Professional Experience
Elizabeth is a New York State certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained to work with adolescents, young adults and families experiencing a range of clinical disorders and issues. She has in-depth knowledge and experience treating anxiety, eating disorders, depression, anger management, phobias, life transitions, divorce, grief and loss and trauma. Elizabeth works with patients using several theoretical orientations including strengths-based therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy and trauma-focused CBT. She believes that knowledge of and integration of different treatment approaches assures optimal treatment for each patient.
Education, Training & Certifications
Elizabeth received a Masters in Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Boston College. In conjunction to private practice, she works at Mount Sinai’s Elmhurst Hospital Center, Child/Adolescent Partial Hospital Program. In this position, Elizabeth works with children, adolescents and families helping to stabilize current symptoms and prevent in-patient hospitalization. In addition to occupational training, she is certified in Interpersonal Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the William Alanson White Institute and trained in Trauma-Focused CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy).

She implements techniques from many different therapeutic approaches including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Affect-Oriented Psychotherapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. Lauren tailors each persons’ therapeutic goals to their own treatments needs and adjusts her theoretical approaches as needed.
